Although Spurn is fantastic at the moment at high tides because of the incredibly close views of breeding-plumaged waders, there is also plenty to see away from the mudflats. I indulged in some "pishing" near the tamarisk tree at the point and four juvenile Willow Warblers immediately came towards me for a closer look. There were at least another 2 nearby. The Wheatear was also in the area, with another at Sammy's Point, Easington. The Dragonflies and butterflies were especially abundant around the Canal Zone!
