Autumn Thursday 7 - Humber Bridge Country Park/Hessle

Bullfinch
Bullfinches
Waxwing
ditto
Long-tailed Tit
The venue was changed again so the Thursday groups could take advantage of the Waxwing influx. It was a "lifer" for 8 on the pm session & a similar number on the am visit. Also went to Humber Bridge Park where we enjoyed close views of at least 3 male Bullfinches and several females. They weren't so apparent in the drizzle of the afternoon, but our persistence paid off & we did eventually see one male. The biggest surprise was a Kingfisher on the pool below the steps. We also saw a Treecreeper and heard Redpoll & a Siskin. Another enjoyable day, and it just shows it pays to ignore the weather forecast!
