Phew! Before this morning every session had seen Waxwings except the Tuesday gang, but they performed very well for both groups in the best light we have encountered so far. The Woodcock in the morning when we were watching the Waxwings was a big surprise. We went on to East Park and found that the Goosanders had returned. Maureen spotted a drake Teal on one of the islands, which is the first time I've seen that species at this location. There was a Great Spotted Woodpecker, and in the morning the Kingfisher flew under the bridge while the class were stood on top watching it! I can relax now everyone has seen the Waxwings!
