This morning's session was cancelled because of the pouring rain, but as the forecast was for it to clear for 1pm, this afternoon's went ahead, but with the venue being altered to North Cave Wetlands. Unfortunately, the rain didn't really start easing off until 3.15. Despite this many species were engaged in courtship rituals, most noticeably - Avocets, Great Crested Grebes and Little Ringed Plovers. We jumped from hide-to-hide to avoid the worst of the rain, so didn't see many passerines, but we were lucky enough to have a prolonged view of a Sedge Warbler. Not a bad session, despite the appalling weather.
