Best Class for a Decade?

This week to break with convention the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday sessions all travelled to the same location to connect with the Hen Harriers, Short-eared Owls and all the other many birds in that location.  In fact one long-standing Thursday morning member proclaimed that this was the best-ever session she has attended since we were at Kilnsea, which coincided with a massive fall of Red-backed Shrikes, Redstarts and other migrants.

Her morning was made by a Woodcock which arose from a ditch while we were looking for a non-existent Little Owl.  It then flew west at head height for over a minute allowing almost everyone to gain a decent view.  Unfortunately, I decided to watch the Woodcock with my eyes, so I didn't get a photograph of the speeding bird.

We've had a lot of Hen Harriers on the blog recently, so I'm going with the Short-eared Owls first instead, but the Harriers and the other sightings follow.  thanks to all the photographers who sent in their pictures.
